Furniture Repair Technician - Upholstery Emphasis

Furniture Medic is looking for a self-motivated individual to perform restoration on all types of wood and fabric furniture with an emphasis in upholstery assembly and installation. This position also requires on-site visits to both residential and commercial customers. We specialize in providing restoration services for the insurance and moving industries. • Furniture upholstery repair and new install work as needed or directed, including but not limited to all methods of upholstery application, spring and frame work, some basic sewing, foam repairs and lay-ups, frame re-glue work, recliner mech work, parts fabrication, pick-ups and deliveries, finish touch-up repairs, on-site repairs, and after-hours repairs.
• Maintain shop stock and help order shop supplies as needed.
• Manage a workflow with our seamstress.
• Be willing and able to work in customers’ homes or businesses following Furniture Medic’s standards.
• Set and keep consistent work hours.
• The ability to lift and carry at least 75 to 80 pounds.
• The ability to handle chemical smells and sanding dust.
• Learn proper methods and uses of the power tools in the shop.
• Learn the software called Service Fusion and maintain your schedule on the computer and/or on your personal device.
• Customer communication as needed.
• Maintain a clean and neat uniform. Employee to provide their own work pants. Khaki or similar slacks preferred to jeans.
• Maintain a good driving record.
• Must submit to a background check.
• Manage workflow through the shop jobs without assistance from other Furniture Medic workers.
• Other duties as needed by Furniture Medic.

• 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday with occasional after-hours work as needed.
• Overtime as needed.
• Furniture Medic will be the employer.

• Beginning hourly rate of $16 per hour.
• We have a 30-day trial review at 30 days. At that time, either party can terminate employment without questions.
• At 90 days, a performance review initiates full-time benefits of standard paid holidays, paid time off, and a discussion of wage increase.
• Yearly reviews are conducted at the start of each calendar year.
• Pay Period is on the 1st and 15th of each month.
