Hiring Range: $42,000- $57,680

• Free parking and admission to all Virginia State Parks.
• Overnight stay discounts for DCR classified, retired, and wage staff (after six months of service):
• Free camping outside the Memorial Day to Labor Day season for sites accommodating up to six people.
• Free Sunday–Thursday camping (excluding the night before holidays) during the Memorial Day–Labor Day period.
• 50% off cabins (up to three bedrooms) outside the Memorial Day–Labor Day season for up to 14 nights. Two nights minimum required. Bunkhouses, camping cabins, and yurts are included; one night yurt stays receive a 25% discount.

• Supervise maintenance and housekeeping activities by leading and assisting in the daily cleaning and servicing of park facilities to maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
• Maintain, improve, and protect park facilities, grounds, systems, resources, vehicles, and equipment by performing and supervising maintenance projects.
• Use skills in a variety of trades, including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, landscaping, small engine repair, vehicle and equipment repairs, and troubleshooting systems.
• Supervise and coach wage employees, volunteers, and alternative labor in the successful performance of these operations.
• Provide user safety and satisfaction by providing clean, safe, and well-maintained facilities and grounds; providing good information to guests; and assisting with guest services.

• Demonstrated experience with supervising custodial/housekeeping work, grounds keeping, maintenance, or other work related to the upkeep and operation of facilities.
• Experience using a variety of tools, materials and equipment to maintain and clean park facilities and grounds maintenance, including mowing, and landscaping.
• Experience in leading, directing, training and evaluating work performed by staff and volunteers.
• Demonstrated skills in basic construction and maintenance trades such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and masonry.
• Experience in vehicle maintenance, including small/large engine repair.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff, guests, and preparing correspondence/reports.
• Experience using computers and software applications.
• Valid Driver’s License.

• Experience overseeing workplace safety, OSHA compliance, and safety training.
• Experience in managing/operating public water systems.
• Demonstrated experience interacting with park visitors, providing information relating to park rules, park activities, or providing similar customer service activities in a comparable environment.
• Demonstrated customer service experience.
