Regional Personal Training Manager
Overview
The Regional Personal Training Manager (RPTM) is responsible for leading the Personal Training Departments across selected locations. This role involves managing the Personal Training team and collaborating with the gym General Manager, Regional Group Fitness Director, and Regional Director of Operations to drive growth and increase revenue. The RPTM ensures an excellent training experience for members while expanding the personal training business at designated sites.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and supervise all Personal Training Managers within your district (up to 5 clubs).
- Hire, train, and develop Personal Training Managers for all locations.
- Achieve and exceed company KPIs.
- Maintain tracking systems for client sessions, package statuses, expirations, renewals, and lead management.
- Ensure programs and operational protocols promote client satisfaction.
- Lead and educate the team to enhance client engagement and retention.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, values, and health & safety procedures.
- Create a safe, productive, and welcoming exercise environment for staff and members.
- Audit daily functions of the personal training staff.
- Monitor business and financial results, developing action plans for improvement.
- Model team expectations through interaction, observation, and problem-solving.
- Ensure all team members hold current personal training certifications.
- Support the promotion of upcoming club events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Financial Performance and Sales (50%)
- Responsible for the department's financial results through personal and team performance.
- Achieve personal and departmental revenue goals monthly.
- Conduct regular training with trainers to uphold standards.
- Hold weekly meetings to review systems and procedures.
- Manage personal trainer performance and expenses.
- Collaborate with the GM to ensure effective membership onboarding and service value.
- Oversee trainer performance during Kickoffs to ensure high conversion rates.
- Manage PT labor expenses within budget, managing schedules effectively.
Team and People Management (50%)
- Recruit, hire, and onboard Personal Trainer Managers and staff as needed.
- Develop a high-performing team through coaching and accountability.
- Communicate department and club initiatives clearly.
- Participate in performance reviews and staffing decisions.
- Foster a collaborative and positive workplace environment.
- Audit payrolls for accuracy and timeliness.
- Work closely with RDO/RGFC for department cohesion.
- Ensure onboarding processes are efficient and effective.
Requirements
- Degree in Exercise Science, Physiology, Kinesiology, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Current recognized personal training certification.
- Minimum 5 years sales experience.
- At least 5 years in the fitness industry.
- Minimum 3 years leadership experience, with proven success in team management.
- Ability to motivate and influence at all organizational levels.
- CPR & First Aid certification, maintained during employment.
- Passion for fitness and wellness, with knowledge of equipment and strategies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and adaptable to new technologies.
- This role operates out of a designated home club.
- Ability to travel extensively (over 50%) across multiple locations.
