Nursery Multi-Site Farm Supervisor – Bloomfield, Iowa, United States

Duties
  • Supervise multiple farm sites totaling over 50,000 head and related personnel, overseeing day-to-day farm tasks to ensure production targets are met.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate day-to-day farm activities and staff to meet daily and weekly production targets.
  • Train employees on day-to-day processes and procedures, develop a competent workforce through hands-on training, timely feedback, and growth opportunities.
  • Perform audits of the farm to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and maintain facilities in good working condition.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of animals, personnel, and supplies.
  • Ensure health and safety of employees and animals, submit detailed reports, and track feed and ration staging for animals.
  • Manage controllable costs, including supplies, labor, and medication.
  • Follow facility safety requirements, including showering in at the beginning and showering out at the end of the day; additional showers may be required based on tasks and movement within the facility.
  • Supervise 7 employees.

    Note:

    No hire/fire authority.
Requirements
  • Two years of related swine experience, including at least one year in a swine-farm management role.
  • Experience following detailed standard operating procedures and training employees on day-to-day processes to develop a competent workforce.
  • Experience ensuring biosecurity protocols are followed and maintaining animal welfare and the environment.
  • Experience performing audits to verify SOP compliance and facility condition, and maintaining accurate records of animals, personnel, and supplies.
  • Experience creating and managing employee work schedules and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Experience submitting orders for farm supplies and maintenance needs; writing routine reports and correspondence; managing animal caretakers.
  • Strong English communication skills. Daily travel to local farms required.
