Position Overview

We are looking for a full‑time Director of Maintenance & Operations to join our SOC Team. This position is contingent upon contract award. Employment offers will be extended only if and when the contract is officially awarded to SOC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as Director and principal staff officer for base support operations of SOC Maintenance Operations, managing key interfaces among the elements of the directorate and with other SOC functions and the government.
  • Establish goals and objectives for the group at the Hawthorne Army Depot and execute directives received from the General Manager.
  • Direct the delivery of maintenance services for real and personal property, including the physical plant, mobile and stationary equipment used to fulfill operational requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with Corporate, State, Federal and Department of Defense rules, regulations and guidelines.
  • Establish, implement and maintain programs, procedures, databases and systems to ensure that all work is performed without detrimental impact to the environment.
  • Partner with depot management to apply best practices, continuously improve environmental performance, quality of service and effectiveness.
  • Maintain an independent internal audit function to ensure compliance with contract requirements and business standards.
  • Lead the incorporation of Defense Industry Initiative Program goals and develop individual development plans for all direct reports.
  • Execute the Environmental Program and Permits, ensuring timely plans and actions for depot building and grounds maintenance.
  • Maintain all company and departmental safety guidelines and OSHA regulations, uphold standards in accordance with the company Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, and cooperate during company investigations.
Required Skills
  • Thorough knowledge of real and personal property, including physical plant, mobile and stationary equipment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Corporate, State and Federal rules, regulations, treaties and guidelines for contractual obligations, and the Defense Industry Initiative Program.
  • Ability to identify State, Federal or Department of Defense contractual requirements and establish, implement and maintain programs, procedures, databases and systems.
  • Effective and professional communication in English, proficient with business communication and computer software.
  • Knowledge of contractual requirements for security, emergency response and fire protection.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, plus a B.S./B.A. in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management or a closely related field. Equivalent combinations of job experience and education may be considered.
  • Minimum 10 years of combined experience managing and directing all phases of base operations, including all related trades, fire department, guard services, planning and engineering, environmental, housing, grounds, janitorial and construction.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a valid State of Nevada driver’s license unless physically unqualified.
  • Must be able to secure and maintain a level “Secret” clearance.
Compensation and Benefits

In compliance with the state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $118,000 – $177,000. Compensation may vary based on experience and geographic location.
