- Supervise staff at varying levels: recruiting, hiring, coaching, mentoring and training to ensure solid staff development and effective talent management.
- Manage and oversee the reconciliation of general ledger accounts in a timely and accurate manner. This includes detailed research and analysis of differences, and working with operational personnel to resolve variances.
- Oversee portfolio administration: ensure accurate and timely publications; coordinate and assist with month‑end closing process including preparation and review of journal entries, trial balances, and month‑end reporting.
- Manage the team’s administrative processes: supervise the team’s support staff or Jr. Accountant; work with Director, Senior Manager, and/or supervisors to maintain consistent administration and processes across portfolios.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Provide accounting guidance to operational personnel.
- Work directly with operational personnel to understand the processes behind assigned accounts.
- Review and analyze account reconciliations and the settlement process flow.
- Document accounting processes and procedures to ensure compliance with company guidelines, recommend process flow improvements, identify and implement efficiencies, controls and eliminate non‑value added work.
- Lead, oversee, and assist the team in effective project management.
- Expert knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Strong critical thinking skills, using logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions to problems.
- Ability to make accurate, independent decisions based on data provided.
- Ability to understand the financial impact of decisions made and balance them with customer satisfaction.
- Must be proactive, detailed and results oriented.
- Must be able to interact with all levels within the organization.
