We are seeking a Production Supervisor to lead our manufacturing operations in Eldridge, Iowa. This critical leadership role oversees plant operations, staff, and production processes, with a strong focus on safety, quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will bring experience with mechanical or electrical industrial equipment, preferably within concrete block or similar manufacturing. A background in plant maintenance is a strong plus, and knowledge of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) or an ability to understand control system logic is required.

Summary of Responsibilities:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for directing daily plant operations, including production, inventory, maintenance, and safety. This role ensures the facility runs efficiently and cost-effectively while maintaining high-quality standards and a positive team environment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Champion a culture of safety and ensure compliance with all safety protocols.
  • Plan and manage the daily operations and maintenance of the block production facility.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with all plant employees.
  • Hire, train, supervise, and develop staff to meet performance and productivity goals.
  • Address performance issues promptly and fairly.
  • Assist in the development and testing of new concrete block products.
  • Monitor and improve operating efficiencies of plant equipment and facilities.
  • Lead planning and procurement of molds, tools, maintenance supplies, and replacement equipment.
  • Manage parts inventory and equipment reliability.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure product consistency and compliance with specifications.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications a plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industrial mechanical or electrical systems used in manufacturing equipment.
  • Familiarity with PLCs and ability to understand control logic is required.
  • Experience in a maintenance or production environment is strongly preferred.
  • Proven leadership skills in managing and developing production teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively under pressure and in fast-paced situations.
  • Solid decision-making abilities, even with limited information.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with production documentation, equipment manuals, and quality specifications.
  • Basic math skills and ability to interpret technical data.
  • High-energy, hands-on role requiring daily problem solving and multitasking.
  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing, reaching, pushing, and grasping.
  • Occasional lifting up to 100 pounds may be required.
  • Work performed both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to seasonal Midwest weather, dust, noise, and industrial materials.
  • Must have good vision and hearing, and the ability to distinguish colors and product specifications.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record required for occasional travel.
  • Must demonstrate high levels of personal integrity, initiative, and accountability.
