Job DescriptionAs a Technician in this role you will support manual and automated assembly of industry‑leading prototype parts for Skyworks Product Development teams. You will work with a small team of technicians in cooperation with design teams to produce engineering samples.
This is a weekend shift position (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) which offers a shift premium.
Responsibilities- Operation, maintenance, and repair of state‑of‑the‑art precision machines to perform die and SMT component placement, strip molding and grinding, wire bonding, material dicing, module shielding, and material evaluation.
- Tasks will include solder assembly, manual picking and placing of semiconductor die and small passive components, connector soldering, and custom module assembly.
- Other tasks include parts kitting/inventory and organization of lab materials. These tasks combine manual assembly and equipment operation and involve working with a microscope and tools for handling very small parts.
- Associate’s degree and 4+ years of related experience or high school and 6+ years of experience.
- Experience utilizing Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Experience and capability using soldering and hand tools (e.g., solder irons, hot air pens, hot plates, tweezers, micro‑picks, scalpel, microscope).
- Ability to work from schematic drawings and block diagrams.
- Ability to work in a multi‑team environment, strong multitasking, verbal and written communication skills, and a desire to learn new processes and equipment as products evolve.
- Experience operating automated and semi‑automated electronics assembly equipment and some preventive maintenance of this equipment.
- Soldering and printed circuit assembly experience, working from engineering drawings and markups, understanding or training for handling ESD‑sensitive electronic components, and experience using a microscope.
- Experience in electronic and RF testing would be beneficial.
- Mechanically inclined to assist in custom fixturing and equipment maintenance.
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $29.86 - $52.02 per hour. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
