Location: Dyersville

The Modern fold Continuous Improvement Engineer drives manufacturing and business process improvements through application of “Lean” principles, tools, and techniques. Responsible for identifying opportunities, developing, and executing action plans, and delivering results that eliminates waste. Coach and develop team members to create a continuous improvement culture that routinely hits its goals relative to safety, quality, delivery, and profitable growth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Demonstrate “Servant Leadership”
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a strong team-player.
  • Use a data driven approach, formulate and execute projects to achieve improvements and sustain and measure the results.
  • Create Value Stream Maps to identify opportunities for production/process enhancement to improve processes with respect to safety, quality, delivery, and cost improvements.
  • Develop and implement lean initiatives including set-up reduction, workplace organization, standardized work, process/workflow improvements, and visual management.
  • Provide leadership in problem-solving efforts on key activities.
  • Be a Lean Champion, trainer, coach, and mentor to motivate and inspire large scale change.
  • Work in tandem with manufacturing engineering to own factory layouts, line design, and best practices.
  • Learn “Visual Knowledge Share” (VKS) software and assist with creating digital work instructions for shop floor and business processes. Ensuring processes are well defined, accurately documented and effectively communicated for operator training.
  • Accountable for complying with all Environmental, Health and Safety regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing technology, business management or equivalent education and experience in a related field preferred.

Experience:

Exposure to Lean Manufacturing – Kaizen, Workplace Organization, Standard Work, Set-up Reduction, Visual Management, Practical Problem-Solving, Value Stream Mapping, and Quality Control.
