Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
2nd Shift:6:00PM - 6:00AM - 3/2/2 Schedule
Pay Rate:$22.25 to $31.00/hr (based on experience)
The primary role of the facility technician is to continuously improve the reliability, efficiency and maintenance of the Building/Grounds and support equipment.
Knows and follows HACCP program and principles, USDA guidelines, and Good Manufacturing Practices
All team members must abide by all of Burke's Plant Safety Rules!
RESPONSIBILITIES- Maintains tool room equipment regarding plates, knives and blades; performs routine preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and physical structures, and on the plumbing, mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems;
Ensures safe and optimum functioning equipment; systems, and processes . - Performs set up/tear down of process equipment daily.
- Facility rounds to inspect and record various repairs needed.
- Inspects facility safety equipment such as fire extinguishers and sprinkler systems to insure compliance is always maintained.
- Will be required to work with and develop equipment and ideas deemed to be confidential information and/or trade secrets owned by the company. This person will be required to protect the company's rights in and ownership of those trade secrets and confidential information
- One-year experience in facility maintenance and repair
- Applicants must not now, or at any time in the future, require employer sponsorship for a work visa
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
- Must be 18 years of age or older (all plant positions)
- Familiarity with forklift, skid loaders, and similar equipment a plus
- Requires basic math, reading, and writing skills, manual dexterity, and ability to maintain arapid pace for extended periods
- Self-motivation and team attitude essential
- Must have to lift at least 50 lbs. and have the physical ability to do the following tasks for extended periods of time: standing, walking, sitting, bending, climbing up steps and using ladders
- Able to work in loud and hot and cold environments
- Willing to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as required
