Description

Trinity Rail Maintenance Services, Inc. (TRMS) is seeking a motivated and experienced team player to fill the position of Lead Chemical Cleaner – 2nd Shift at our Shell Rock, IA facility. TRMS provides a complete array of railcar maintenance services.

As a Lead Chemical Cleaner, you will guide and support the Chemical Cleaning team while ensuring safe, effective, and compliant cleaning operations. You will apply advanced knowledge of chemicals and cleaning procedures, oversee daily work activities, and help maintain a safe and efficient work environment.

• Lead and support Chemical Cleaning team members during daily operations
• Determine and carry out the appropriate cleaning processes for various railcar products
• Purge railcar surfaces using water and/or non-hazardous cleaning chemicals
• Operate hand-held blasting and cleaning equipment
• Safely handle, use, and store chemicals, including hazardous materials
• Maintain, inspect, and troubleshoot cleaning equipment and work areas
• Ensure compliance with all safety rules, policies, and procedures
• Bring safety concerns forward and participate in safety committees or initiatives
• Train or mentor newer team members as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Minimum of 1 year of chemical cleaning or related industrial experience
• Previous lead or informal leadership experience preferred
• Strong understanding of chemical handling, cleaning procedures, and safety practices
• Ability to work 2nd shift and in industrial environments
• Commitment to teamwork, safety, and quality workmanship
