Job SummaryThe Material Handler is responsible for supporting internal and external customers through accurate receiving, stocking, delivery, and shipment of materials. The role includes operating all material support equipment and performing all material support functions (i.e. shipping, receiving, and delivering to production lines) in an assigned Operations facility.
Your Impact- Perform all aspects of the material movement/handling process related to stock replenishment for the work area.
- Pick, deliver, and place parts, raw materials, containers, fixturing, and tooling to the point of use.
- Unload and load trucks using material handling equipment.
- Accept loads and receive material into the system.
- Complete accurate inventory counts.
- Inspect materials upon receipt to ensure they are conforming and undamaged.
- Place stock into assigned storage areas.
- Record location and quantity of inventory via handheld scanner/computer terminal.
- Work outside for extended periods of time, when required.
- Maintain a positive working attitude and a compliant work environment.
- Mentor and train new team members on processes and facility layout.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with safety procedures, rules, and 6S standards.
- Ensure regular attendance.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned.
- Ability to perform basic math (addition and subtraction).
- Ability to read and understand date codes, bill of lading, pallet tickets, etc.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience with MS Windows, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience operating a tow motor/forklift.
- At least six months of material handling experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with JD Edwards Enterprise One or another Enterprise Resource System.
- Shipping and receiving experience in a warehouse environment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Experience operating an overhead bridge crane or jib crane.
- Eligibility for medical, prescription, dental, and vision insurance beginning Day 1 of employment.
- Up to ten thousand dollars each year for tuition reimbursement.
