Position SummaryThe Material Project Coordinator works in conjunction with Production Planning to pick material and organize project related jobs to ensure a consistent and accurate flow of materials to the production area. The role monitors the progress of production work orders, notifies management of shortages, cycles inventory or picks orders for regular production, and ensures material transactions on jobs throughout the warehouse are current and correct.
Responsibilities- Work with the Production Supervisor and Production Planning to complete and monitor progress on all projects, parts orders, work orders, and purchase orders related to builds specified by MS.
- Ensure all project carts are organized and up to date physically and in CSI.
- Report shortages and resolve any shortages on assigned projects, tasks, and jobs.
- Utilize CSI to review all jobs, tasks, and suffixes to ensure parts are properly issued, jobs are correctly assigned and closed, and issues are communicated to the Production Supervisor and Master Scheduler.
- Attend weekly production/project review meetings as required.
- Monitor material pick lists and material shortage lists, prioritizing expediting efforts according to delivery dates and available material.
- Maintain weekly progress updates on parts orders, work orders, and purchase orders as required.
- Review open jobs throughout the warehouse to ensure jobs, suffixes, and tasks align with job location.
- Learn, oversee, and control the Dedicated Warehouses (SPA = S01 and SM01 and Ben = B01, including additional if created).
- General housekeeping of the Job Cart area including trash and empty carton management, label management, and any other requirement to preserve order and integrity of the area.
- Work with the Warehouse Lead to execute pick activity as prescribed by the production or transfer schedule.
- Identify parts by correct part number and location, removing any parts required by the pick instruction, by correct lot number if required.
- Ensure remaining items are clearly marked, returned, and located in the correct location.
- Issue parts per document specifications, notifying Warehouse Lead immediately if any discrepancy is identified.
- Maintain picking cart and environment in a safe and orderly manner.
- Prepare any necessary documentation for picking/putting away items.
- Suggest consolidation or improvement of inventory through work activity.
- Cooperate with other departments, provide coverage during cross‑training, and coordinate training of new employees.
- Assist Inventory Coordinator with stock transfers, discrepancies, cycle counting, and perform CSI functions related to inventory issues and closing out jobs.
- Complete daily cycle counts, maintain a clean and organized workplace, and implement improvement ideas regarding 5S and efficiency opportunities.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to focus in a busy and distracting environment.
- Knowledge of production and inventory control (P&IC) techniques.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and basic MRP principles.
- High energy, good attitude, resourcefulness, and a strong sense of urgency.
- Proficient computer skills, including navigating multiple systems and software applications efficiently.
- Understanding of air and gas compressors and generators.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, oral and written.
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
- U.S. Citizen or qualified U.S. Person in accordance with ALU 22
CFR 120.15; may require the ability to obtain DOD security clearance.
