Production Team Member; Knife Positions

Summary

Work on the pork production line performing repetitive tasks that might require the use of tools. Work in hot temperatures or cold temperature (41 °F) conditions while wearing proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and following all safety and food safety requirements.

• Work in a fast‑paced area where the task may require repetition with the use of tools such as knives, saws, and whizard knives.
• Operate equipment as required.
• Harvest pork, which may include bloody areas and handling raw meat.
• Fabricate pork and handle raw meat.
• Work in different work stations as production or supervisor needs require.
• Maintain internal and external relationships.
• Maintain KPI's and scorecards to drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure USDA regulatory compliance, HACCP, SSOP, SOP, GMP, and SQF program quality and safety.
• Advocate and maintain a strong commitment to safety in the operating process, including but not limited to PPE, preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout‑Tag‑out procedures, and Process Safety Management related matters.

Education and/or Experience

No prior experience needed but preferred.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Effective presentation of information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to internal and external customers.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. Occasionally required to sit. The employee may be required to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and required to adjust vision as needed.

Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; moving mechanical parts; extreme cold (floor consistently exposed to temperatures of 41 °F) and extreme heat. Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions. The noise level is usually loud.
