Fabrication Technician (Machine Operation & Finishing Support)

Earlville, Iowa 1st Shift, M–F, 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM (OT as needed) $20-$22/hour (Based on experience)

The Fabrication Technician sets up and operates fabrication equipment to produce metal components to specification. This role supports multiple areas of production, including forming, cutting, and occasional paint line/finishing work as needed.

• Set up and operate equipment such as press brake, saws, shears, and plasma cutters
• Read and interpret blueprints and work orders
• Perform quality checks and ensure parts meet specifications
• Complete basic machine maintenance (cleaning, lubrication, minor adjustments)
• Maintain production records (job tracking, quality checks)
• Assist with paint line/finishing (part prep, hanging, masking, packaging) as needed
• Operate material handling equipment after training
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow all safety procedures
• Cross‑train and support other areas as required

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior fabrication or machine operation experience, specifically brake press, experience required
• Ability to read blueprints and use basic measuring tools
• Attention to detail and strong math skills
• Ability to measure accurately using measurement tools
• Ability to work independently or as a team in a fast‑paced environment
• Willingness to learn and work across multiple processes
• Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 75 lbs
• Ability to stand and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
