Position SummaryThe role of Production Supervisor directly supports the company’s mission to develop and deliver clean power plants that make 100% renewable energy a reality for the world. As the Production Supervisor you will be working within the Plant Production team and reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for managing resources under its scope to achieve established safety, quality, environmental, and production objectives.
The Production Supervisor will work closely with managers and other departments to ensure smooth and efficient manufacturing. Your role is to lead, organize and supervise assembly teams, and ensure compliance with production plans and quality and safety standards.
What you’ll do- Act as a role model by demonstrating behaviors aligned with Nordex core values, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and respect.
- Own and be accountable for team performance across safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and schedule adherence within the assigned production area.
- Manage and coordinate all human and technical resources to achieve planned production goals, optimizing efficiency, productivity, and effective utilization of resources.
- Analyze production needs based on assembly and production plans; ensure the availability, readiness, and alignment of workforce, tools, equipment, and materials to meet daily and weekly production targets.
- Translate production objectives into clear daily priorities and tasks, driving execution and ensuring adherence to production schedules.
- Monitor and analyze KPIs within scope, identify gaps and risks, and implement corrective and preventive actions to drive continuous improvement.
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives, applying Lean principles, 5S, and problem‑solving methodologies to improve processes, quality, safety, and performance.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality standards, actively promoting an incident‑free culture through hazard identification, safe work practices, and immediate corrective action when unsafe conditions are observed.
- Participate in or lead incident and near‑miss investigations, root cause analyses, and implementation of corrective actions in collaboration with Safety, Quality, and Engineering functions.
- Ensure production teams follow standard work, work instructions, and quality requirements, and promptly elevate deviations or risks to appropriate support functions.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and regular feedback to production employees; set clear performance expectations and foster engagement, accountability, and professional development.
- Support training and skill development by ensuring employees are competent, trained, and qualified to perform assigned tasks, including onboarding and cross‑training as needed.
- Maintain strong communication and collaboration with team members, peer supervisors, and cross‑functional partners to support production, safety, and quality objectives.
- Ensure good housekeeping and 5S standards are maintained in the production area and support first‑line preventative maintenance activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Electrical or Mechanical certifications or technical training (preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in electrical or mechanical assembly or manufacturing.
- 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Experience in wind turbines, industrial, or automotive electrical or mechanical systems.
- Understanding of electrical or mechanical systems and components.
