Amazon Engineering Maintenance And Reliability Manager
Amazon has hundreds of facilities across Europe. These are not just workplaces, but centers where teams come together and collaborate to ensure we always deliver the best to our customers. As an engineering maintenance and reliability area manager, your role will be to combine all the elements that make our work environment as supportive and efficient as possible. Your task will be to direct and guide a team of expert technicians with the aim of ensuring the reliability of the facilities.
Key job responsibilities:
- Provide support to your team members in compliance with workplace safety policies and procedures.
- Implement EU network standards, plan preventive maintenance tasks, and ensure technical availability.
- Collaborate with the rest of the staff to collect and analyze data with the aim of improving processes.
- Execute and supervise projects both locally and across the network.
- Lead, support, and guide your team members to enable their professional development.
A day in the life:
You will work in one of our operational centers, which will allow you to provide practical guidance to your team and have a clear view of what is happening in your center. This involves collecting data and solving problems in a dynamic work environment. You will also have the opportunity to create an operations plan to increase productivity and efficiency in the center.
To do this, you are expected to launch new comprehensive improvement projects that cover both operational processes and equipment maintenance.
After safety, the most important function of the position is to lead your team and ensure their performance and development, which involves organizing training courses.
About the team:
Our reliability and maintenance engineering (RME) team is responsible for ensuring that our systems operate at full capacity. We are characterized by our great technical aptitude and our excellent ability to work as a team, led by experienced managers. Our work includes the maintenance, repair, and solution of problems related to equipment throughout our global network of distribution centers. The team has a number of leadership profiles that are responsible for overseeing the development of fascinating technologies, some of which only exist at Amazon.
Our team deals with most of Amazon's technical aspects, performing tasks ranging from the installation of automated packaging systems to the supervision of general maintenance of a center or the repair of key distribution equipment. This includes adapting buildings to current legislation, so that all staff are safe and our facilities operate with the greatest possible efficiency. The RME team, like other departments at Amazon, offers numerous opportunities for professional progress.
All our work revolves around reducing downtime in Amazon's crucial operational centers, so that customers receive their orders on time. We often work early in the morning or late at night to carry out maintenance tasks causing the least inconvenience, so we work night shifts. If we discover a better way to do something, we have the ability and the possibility to develop and introduce entirely new processes or cutting-edge technology, such as Amazon Robotics and our complex item sorter.
