What You'll DoAs a Manufacturing Engineer I, you will work under the guidance of senior manufacturing engineers and the Manufacturing Engineering Manager to support both engineering and the production shop floor — identifying and executing continuous improvement activities and providing support for product and process development.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Applying working knowledge of manufacturing operations, material consumption and movement, and manufacturing methods to craft precise and accurate methods of manufacturing
- Ensuring product quality by developing testing and assurance methods and defining them within the ERP bill of operations
- Documenting, designing, developing, and implementing or recommending production tooling and machinery to support manufacturing efficiency improvements or new production processes
- Providing detailed review and costing of manufacturing requirements as assigned to project efforts and requests
- Documenting, reviewing, and completing EWRs and ECOs through the manufacturing engineering process as assigned
- Creating, loading, updating, and facilitating MOM/BOM updates in Kinetic derived from ECOs or document markups, either directly or through CADlink
- Assisting product design in the creation and facilitation of the First Article process including documentation and processing
- Engaging project engineering to ensure products have detailed test plans that align with quality and performance requirements for production
- Reviewing, creating, and updating production work instructions and supporting documentation
- Participating in production and engineering departmental studies and process improvements
- Frequently reviewing assigned manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for enhanced OEE
- Documenting and participating in implementation of continuous improvement opportunities related to safety, quality, service, cost, and efficiency
Competencies:
- Problem solving and critical thinking
- CAD modeling software, specifically Solid Works
- Solid understanding of engineering standards
- Foundational knowledge of machinery assembly, coating, welding, and CNC manufacturing processes
- Microsoft O365
- Lean Six Sigma
Required
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED or higher
- Minimum 3 years of related manufacturing experience
Preferred
Education & Experience:
- Associate's degree or higher in engineering or a related science
- Minimum 2 years of manufacturing engineering experience
- Minimum Yellow Belt level certification in Lean Six Sigma
This is a primarily office-based role with regular time in production areas and the warehouse. Team members must be able to:
- Stand, walk, sit, and alternate positions throughout the day
- Reach, push, pull, and stay in position as needed
- Lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
This role operates in a professional office setting with an individual workspace. Team members frequently work in production areas and the warehouse.
Travel
Travel may be necessary on a planned basis to other Puck manufacturing locations.
