Location: Shell Rock

2nd Shift Plant Operator

Full‑time, manual labor position located in Shell Rock, IA. Shift: 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm, Sunday thru Thursday, 40‑hour week with occasional overtime.

Salary: $23.00 – $34.00 per hour plus a $2/hour shift premium and a $4,000 sign‑on bonus. Base salary may vary by experience, certification, and location. U.S. candidates are eligible for a bonus opportunity in addition to benefits.

Responsibilities
  • Control, operate, and maintain automated production machinery that blends, mixes, processes, dries, fills, and packages product.
  • Operate equipment such as reactors, dryers, blenders, bagging machines, and material handling systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot production equipment.
  • Carry out shipping, receiving, and other warehousing tasks.
  • Sample, collect data, and perform process operations according to production, regulatory, and feed safety requirements.
  • Identify and properly segregate and disposition nonconforming raw materials, in‑process, and finished products.
  • Identify and implement measures that improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
  • Receive work direction and complete job assignments as directed by management.
Qualifications

Minimum required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a production environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting ability.
  • Basic computer skills, including MS Word and Excel.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Effective communication with coworkers and management.

Preferred:

  • Post‑secondary education.
  • Three or more years’ experience in a related production environment or industry (chemical, feed, paper, ethanol, dairy).
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and perform maintenance‑related tasks.
  • Boiler operation experience.
  • Experience with CMMS or ERP inventory management systems.
  • Experience supporting ISO 9000 Quality Systems, GMP, or Lean Manufacturing methods.
