Position: Manufacturing Technician II - Packaging (Nights)

Night shift position: 6 pm – 6:30 am. Rotation: 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 3 days off.

Job Responsibilities
  • Operate assigned machinery, servicing machines with materials, monitoring equipment status, reintroduction of materials, manually palletizing finished materials, and ensuring smooth product flow.
  • Start up machinery including equipment set‑up, select recipes, and enter data on the manufacturing computerized system (SCADA and HMI), make minor adjustments, and perform critical sensor checks.
  • Perform manual packaging tasks as required, including hand packaging and rework of in‑process and finished material.
  • Operate light material handling equipment (motorized and manual pallet jacks, non‑motorized lifts) to safely move, store, or deliver material.
  • Conduct visual quality inspection and sampling of in‑process materials; promptly raise concerns to Lead and Process Facilitator.
  • Perform minor troubleshooting, clear jams, and identify equipment defects.
  • Collaborate with technical resources to resolve equipment issues.
  • Perform inventory control and reconciliation activities, potentially using SAP and WES.
  • Carry out cleaning, housekeeping, and line clearance activities to maintain a cGMP environment, including assembly, disassembly, and sanitization of packaging equipment.
  • Enter batch record and GMP documentation; perform necessary mathematical calculations.
  • Adhere to job‑related safety procedures and hazards including PPE, ergonomics, LOTO, human safety, material handling, chemical handling, and spill controls.
  • Work responsibly in accordance with SOPs, cGMPs, and established safety and quality procedures.
  • Support lean activities and process improvement work such as 5S, problem‑solving, and manual tracking of OEE and process improvement data.
  • Act as a certified OJT trainer, conduct evaluations, and train other team members on equipment and process tasks.
  • Review process documents (SOPs, forms, batch records) for accuracy.
  • Identify and suggest process improvements while maintaining quality and cGMP compliance.
  • Execute protocols required for equipment qualification and process validation.
  • Provide flexibility to support other manufacturing areas as needed.
  • Perform all other assigned duties with minimal supervision under the direction of the Process Facilitator or designee.
  • Acquire and maintain necessary certifications and qualifications for the assigned work area.
  • Demonstrate willingness to learn new skills and develop capabilities continually.
  • Work effectively in a team environment.
  • Adapt to a changing and demanding environment.
  • Be prepared for occasional overtime with minimal advance notice.
Minimum Requirements
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical or cGMP regulated environment.
  • Ability to effectively understand, read, write, communicate, and follow instructions in English.
  • Strong attention to detail; capable of keeping accurate records and performing mathematical calculations.
Preferred Background
  • High school graduate, vocational school graduate, or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications and SAP.
  • Prior production experience.
  • Experience working in a LEAN manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of cGMPs and FDA policies/procedures.
