Truss Assembler

We are seeking a skilled truss assembler to join our team. Our company specializes in the manufacturing of residential and commercial trusses and is looking for talented individuals to fill the roles of Catcher, Builder, or other related positions. The primary focus will be on building and assembling trusses.

Responsibilities

• Assemble wood trusses according to blueprints displayed on a screen.
• Set up a jig with robotic pins to correctly place pre-cut wood.
• Tack plates and use a roller to flatten wood and plates, completing the product.
• Read a tape measure to 1/16 of an inch accurately.
• Use a hammer and pneumatic staple gun for assembly tasks.
• Stand completed trusses upright in the yard, collaborating with a forklift operator as necessary.
• Work with the saw operator to catch and stack wood, checking angles with a carpenter square.

Essential Skills

• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Proficiency in reading a tape measure.
• 6+ months of experience in general labor, manufacturing, production, carpentry, or construction.
• Score 80% or higher on Basic Industrial Math and Tape Measure test.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with hand tools and power tools.
• Familiarity with blueprint reading and mechanical assembly.
• Knowledge of wood framing and carpentry techniques.

Work Environment

The work environment includes a mix of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts with detailed schedules. Employees will experience a hot climate in the summer (doors opened for breeze) and a heated space in the winter. The dress code is casual with jeans, shorts, T-shirts, and steel-toe shoes. Employees should provide their own framing hammer, hammer holder/holster, and tape measure. Knee pads are available as needed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pleasantville, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.59 - $23.59/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
