Job Title
This role focuses on operating a hand grinder, parts shot blaster, packaging equipment, and supporting machine operators in a manufacturing environment. You will process steel parts to meet customer specifications while maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency. The position is on the first shift, working Monday through Friday from 5:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with regular opportunities for overtime that may increase weekly hours to approximately 50–55.
Responsibilities- Operate a hand grinder and other power tools to grind, finish, and prepare steel parts.
- Perform piece processing activities such as grinding, blasting, marking, finishing, machining, beveling, and forming according to work instructions.
- Use a parts shot blaster and other secondary equipment to achieve required surface finishes and specifications.
- Produce quality parts that meet customer specifications while maximizing efficient use of material and minimizing scrap.
- Confirm and record work orders using a computer system (SAP) to ensure accurate tracking of production activities.
- Operate material handling equipment such as cranes, forklifts, or side loaders to move skids of material or plate safely as needed.
- Carry and move packaging supplies and packaging skids to support production and shipping activities.
- Assist machine operators as a helper, including setting up, feeding, and removing parts from machines as required.
Skills & Qualifications
- Blueprint reading experience is preferred and helps in interpreting customer specifications.
- Forklift operation experience is preferred and supports safe material handling.
- Overhead crane operation experience is a significant plus for moving plate and skids of material.
- Prior experience in grinding, general labor, or manufacturing environments is beneficial.
- Comfort working in a more manufacturing-focused, dirty shop environment rather than a traditional warehouse.
- Interest in obtaining or maintaining forklift certification.
- Willingness to participate in safety committees or continuous improvement initiatives.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eldridge, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.16/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
