Location: Red Oak

Machine Operator (Power Frame)

Location: Red Oak, IA | Components Plant

Pay: $23.58/hr with incentive pay based on production then incentive of $4.20 after 60-90 days (Shift Premium for night shift if $1, average is $26.50)

Bonus: Potential to earn up to 5% based on overall plant performance

Pay Frequency: Bi-Weekly (Friday)

Shifts:

  • A & C Shifts (Days): 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • B & D Shifts (Nights): 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • 12-hour shifts (2-2-3 rotating schedule)

Job Responsibilities

As a Machine Operator at our Red Oak Power Frame® facility, you will operate and maintain precision manufacturing equipment used in grid production.

  • Operate casting, rolling mill, press, and lead pot equipment to produce Power Frame® grids
  • Monitor key parameters such as temperature, flow, speed, and product dimensions
  • Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and product changeovers
  • Inspect equipment and parts for quality, ensuring conformance to specifications
  • Assist maintenance with equipment PMs, repairs, and troubleshooting
  • Handle lead safely, following all environmental and safety procedures (LOTO, PPE, hazardous materials handling)
  • Train and support new operators to ensure safe, efficient performance
  • Document production data and quality checks accurately
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred not required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Basic computer, math, reading, and writing skills
  • Comfortable working 12-hour shifts, including weekends and overtime as needed
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in a hot, industrial environment
  • Must be able to wear required PPE, including respirator when applicable
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety

Our Red Oak, Iowa Components Plant specializes in manufacturing Power Frame® grids, a critical component in automotive battery technology. Opened in 2003, the plant employs more than 80 people and operates seven days per week. Red Oak has been recognized by the State of Iowa as a Renewable Energy Partner and was awarded the Mid American Energy Clean Air Excellence Award.
