Job Summary

The Machine Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of mechanical equipment in the food manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for conducting routine maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and performing repairs to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. Utilizing strong mechanical aptitude and creative problem‑solving skills, this position supports a safe working environment. The Machine Maintenance Technician will also be responsible for the transfer of important manufacturing knowledge to end users on proper machinery operation and maintenance.

Job Responsibilities

Troubleshoots and repairs electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic production machinery. Performs preventive maintenance tasks on a scheduled basis to ensure optimal performance and longevity of machinery. Operates and performs maintenance on tools, equipment, and minor appliances.

Responds promptly to equipment breakdowns, diagnoses problems, and executes necessary repairs to minimize production interruptions. Conducts routine inspections of manufacturing equipment and machinery to identify and address potential issues before they escal.

Collaborates with various departments to coordinate maintenance activities, ensuring minimal impact on manufacturing and production schedules. Trains employees and end users on proper machinery operation, maintenance, and repair.

Assists in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery.

Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and spare parts inventory.

Identifies opportunities for process improvement and contributes to the implementation of efficiency-enhancing initiatives.

Adheres to safety protocols and procedures, promoting a culture of workplace safety and compliance with regulatory standards.

Follows food safety GMPs

Collaborates with external vendors and contractors as needed for specialized repairs or installations.

Assists with and may lead special projects as assigned.

Performs other duties as required-including the involvement in other facets of the maintenance department
