Base Hourly Wage: $17.80 per hour
Shift Premium: $1.50 per hour
Job SummaryGeneral Labor positions include a variety of manual or tool-assisted, repetitive tasks to produce raw and ready-to-eat products. Applicants for General Labor positions may be offered roles in one of the following key areas.
Key Responsibilities by DepartmentEvisceration
- Perform manual repetitive tasks to clean and eviscerate (remove the organs of) recently harvested turkey to prepare for processing using knives, scissors, and vacuum.
- Train and rotate to perform multiple tasks within the department.
Deboning / Trim
- Perform manual repetitive tasks to cut or trim meat from the carcass in preparation for processing using knives and other tools.
- Train and rotate to perform multiple tasks within the department.
Packaging
- Perform manual repetitive tasks to place sliced meat into package molds.
- Perform manual repetitive tasks to label packages.
- Perform manual repetitive tasks to place packages of product into boxes.
- Perform manual repetitive tasks to place boxes onto pallets.
- Place logs of meat into containers for shipping to other facilities.
- Train and rotate to perform multiple tasks within the department.
Raw Pack / Binning
- Boxing raw meat into boxes.
- Move tanks using a pallet jack.
- Ensure proper labeling of bins is completed.
- Document correct handoff to the proper team members.
- Train and rotate to perform multiple tasks within the department.
Set Up
- Set up production after sanitation has completed.
- Train and rotate to perform multiple tasks within the department.
Other duties as assigned
Requirements- Experience: No previous experience is necessary. Experience in food manufacturing or processing is a plus.
- Age: Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
- Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States; no sponsor ships are available.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Physical Abilities: Ability to stand for long periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, including above the head and below the waist.
- Must be able to work at line speed with the ability to make coordinated hand and finger movements.
- Environmental: Ability to work in varying temperature conditions.
- Flexibility: Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends as needed. Ability to adjust quickly to changing demands.
- Compliance: Must practice good personal hygiene. Candidates must successfully pass post-offer/pre-employment drug test, background screen, and physical.
