Collins Aerospace is seeking a Principal Specialist, Production Planner to support our fuel nozzle production team and help drive key initiatives that enable our Materials Planning and SIOP goals. This position is for an experienced Materials Planning and SIOP professional who is responsible for the supply and demand planning process, and for making moderate improvements to systems and processes to enhance performance of work area and team.
WhatYou Will Do
- Develops and maintain production plans for materials planning and SIOP.
- Responsible for the development of standardized processes within materials planning and SIOP in order to optimize the utilization of business resources and meet customer expectations for delivery.
- Identifies appropriate demand streams and establishes data relationship linkages.
- Works with product development leaders and sales and marketing teams to develop demand forecasts.
- Responsible for planning capacity and fulfillment demand with plant manufacturing operations.
- Facilitates the capacity management process, including identification and escalation of long-term capacity gaps to ensure successful execution of customer demands in support of SIOP.
- Executes continuous management of the production plan, including adherence to all required validations using the best information available, in order to provide long range OE and aftermarket demand visibility in support of financial planning, internal and external capacity management, and the overall SIOP process.
- Mitigates risks for short term shortages with internal suppliers to ensure successful customer delivery.
- Monitors the transportation and delivery of inter/intraplant parts and outbound finished products.
- Tracks and manages inter/intraplant work in process (WIP), promise dating, expedite orders to ensure on-time delivery and flow.
- May oversee command center and drive part shortage resolution.
- Monitors tracking and shipping. Performs escalated expediting when required to ensure on time delivery of material.
- Will help set up and create standard work for the additive production process.
- Works with development engineers to create work orders, delivery without reference, and any other needed documents to support the development of new products and services.
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
- Operations Management, Supply Chain Management disciplines preferred.
- At least 4 years of experience in Planning, Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field.
- SAP experience or similar ERP system.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of ACE/CORE and/or Lean Six Sigma is encouraged.
- Advanced proficiency in software programs such as Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- APICS or CPIM certification.
- Self-directed; strong planning and organization skills with ability to be adaptable to changing priorities and assignments.
- Manage daily tasks and come back with solid results/solutions.
- Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, verbally and in writing, to individuals at all levels and to cross-functional groups.
