Job Type: Full‑time with some local travel and overtime

Experience: Requirement of wash plant and dredge operations. Mechanical knowledge and IDOT Aggregate certification would be a plus.

Reports to: Regional Aggregate Manager, has supervisory responsibility.

Wage: $30 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Job Summary

The wash plant/dredge foreman will be responsible for daily production of sand at sites within 1 hour of New Hampton. You will be responsible for leading the daily duties of a small team. Experience with different pieces of equipment (front end loaders, haul trucks, blades, etc.) and knowing the basics of pit dredging and washing is required. Experience diversity by working at different locations and deposit challenges.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Oversee the movement and stockpiling of sand, gravel, or other materials.
  • Oversee portable dredge/ wash plan operation.
  • Keep wash plants and other associated areas, equipment clean, organized, and properly maintained.
  • Troubleshoot and communicate problems with site crews.
  • Perform wash plant/ dredge and machinery set up and take down.
  • Assist with machine maintenance, repairs, repair conveyor problems, and grease‑moving machine parts.
  • Perform daily pre and post‑inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
  • Interact with department heads at the Corporate Office to ensure proper reporting of payroll hours, staffing changes, crew and equipment movements, production tonnages, mechanical breakdowns, and quality issues.
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co‑workers, supervisors, and the public at all times.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operation and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA.
  • Team player mentality and eagerness to cross‑train.
  • Willingness to perform duties outside the normal scope of work as this job description is non‑exhaustive.
Position Requirements
  • Consent to authorization of a pre‑employment work screen, Motor Vehicle Record request, and drug test.
  • Knowledge of Wash plants and their operations.
  • Dredging knowledge.
  • MSHA 46 miner certification, we will provide.
  • Mechanical knowledge.
  • Strong leadership skills.
    • Personal protective equipment is required.
      • Possess excellent communication skills and understand instructions in both written and verbal forms.
  • Dependability and reliability by showing up to scheduled shifts on time and being prepared for work.
  • A positive attitude is critical to ensure productive working relationships with co‑workers and management.
  • Continuous exposure to weather elements including heat, cold, noise, dusty conditions, and working outdoors.
  • Overnight travel is not standard but may be required.
