A growing manufacturing organization is seeking an Area Supervisor to lead production operations, oversee personnel, and drive continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment. This hands‑on leadership role is responsible for ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards while meeting customer delivery expectations.
This position works closely with production, engineering, quality, planning, and supply chain teams to support operational excellence, workforce development, inventory management, scheduling, safety compliance, and process improvement efforts. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong manufacturing experience and a passion for continuous improvement.
Schedule: Second Shift (Monday–Thursday, 1:30 PM–12:00 AM)
Job Responsibilities Production & Operations Management- Supervise daily manufacturing activities to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality production.
- Develop and manage production schedules, departmental workloads, and labor allocation.
- Coordinate production activities to meet customer delivery requirements and operational objectives.
- Work with planning and scheduling teams to ensure material availability and on‑time order fulfillment.
- Analyze workflow, identify bottlenecks, and implement process improvements.
- Assist with inventory control and production planning activities.
- Support engineering change implementation and ensure manufacturing processes remain aligned with current specifications.
- Verify accuracy of manufacturing, sales, and engineering documentation to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction.
- Support and enforce ISO‑based quality systems and procedures.
- Lead quality‑focused initiatives, inspections, documentation, and training efforts.
- Investigate and resolve manufacturing, product, and customer quality issues.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and other operational excellence methodologies.
- Develop, maintain, and improve written procedures, work instructions, and standardized processes.
- Promote a culture focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and accountability.
- Supervise, coach, and develop manufacturing employees.
- Conduct interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management activities.
- Foster employee engagement while promoting teamwork and professional development.
- Lead cross‑training initiatives to improve workforce flexibility and operational efficiency.
- Facilitate department meetings and communicate organizational goals and expectations.
- Resolve employee concerns and promote a positive, respectful work environment.
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and promote a strong safety culture throughout the facility.
- Identify opportunities to improve workplace safety, ergonomics, and operational practices.
- Support Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) initiatives and company compliance requirements.
- Utilize ERP/MRP systems to support production scheduling and operational planning.
- Monitor key production, quality, and labor performance metrics.
- Prepare reports and communicate operational performance to leadership.
- Support strategic initiatives focused on productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working in an ISO‑certified manufacturing operation.
- Experience with production scheduling, inventory management, and workforce planning.
- Ability to create and maintain written procedures, work instructions, and process documentation.
- Experience resolving manufacturing, product, and customer‑related issues.
- Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
