B&G Foods is seeking an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation technician for its packing department in the Cincinnati Crisco manufacturing facility. The selected candidate will be responsible for acquiring the operational skills associated with either the process or packing department as well as gaining advanced E&I expertise. The successful candidate will have consistently demonstrated logic troubleshooting, a desire to develop advanced skills, and the ability to communicate and work well with all plant employees.
All work must be performed in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner.
- Perform E&I activities in a high-performance working environment on a shiftly basis to ensure optimum utilization of materials and manpower to maximize production, safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Participate in root cause failure analysis with team members and maintenance leaders for major downtime.
- Maintain strong computer skills (JDE, Excel) and work accurately with numbers.
- Demonstrate troubleshooting skills using “Why‑Why” tool and complete routine maintenance and AM team defect fixes.
- Accurately troubleshoot, coach, and teach operators in our processing and packaging facility.
- Strong computer and numerical proficiency (JDE, Excel).
- Proven troubleshooting skills and use of “Why‑Why” methodology.
- Completion of routine maintenance and defect fixes.
- Ability to troubleshoot, coach, and teach operators.
- Clear articulation of thoughts and ideas, verbally and written.
- Interact with operators, line leaders, and technical leaders on E&I issues.
- Participate in training to improve teamwork, creativity, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership via functional leadership or other forms.
- Active participation on AM, PM, or Problem Solving/FI teams.
- Own self‑training and qualifications as needed.
- Consistently track troubleshooting to root cause and work to completion.
- Lead win‑win problem solving within B&G or with external contractors, vendors, suppliers.
- Recognize problems and recommend solutions.
- Self‑directed and motivated; meets commitments, deadlines, and delivers results.
- Strong time‑management skills and ability to prioritize.
- Works effectively with others at all levels and actively participates in meetings and activities.
- High School Diploma plus two years of technical training preferred.
- 2‑5 years electrical/instrumentation experience preferred.
- Excellent technical and troubleshooting skills and knowledge of all crafts (mechanical, electrical, and technical).
- Must pass the math test and electrical aptitude test.
- Willingness to flex schedule for training.
- Leadership skills: conflict resolution, communication, organization, time management, goal setting, continuous improvement, safety mindset, and teamwork.
- Must be willing to work 2nd or 3rd shift.
- Must be willing to work additional overtime as required.
- Successfully qualify on operational skills and function as an operator when needed.
- Must adhere to the plant’s attendance policy.
- Perform necessary physical activities: climbing stairs, ladders, standing on platforms, moving on floors, working at elevated levels, lifting objects up to 75 pounds with proper techniques, and standing/walking minimum 70% of the time.
