CNC Lathe Machinist

Position Summary:

Set up and operate axis CNC lathe machines to manufacture plastic and non-metallic components in accordance with precise customer specifications and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up axis CNC lathe machines for repeat production jobs using process sheets and established procedures.
  • Edit, upload, and retrieve CNC programs as needed for machine setup and operation.
  • Interpret blueprints, sketches, and manufacturing documents to ensure accurate part production.
  • Perform self-inspection using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, comparators).
  • Identify and document non-conforming parts following proper procedures.
  • Meet production schedules and quoted cycle times for assigned jobs.
  • Complete and maintain accurate production and MRP (Material Requirements Planning) documentation.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to resolve production issues and improve processes.
  • Perform secondary operations and hand-finishing tasks as required.
  • Analyze and improve cycle times to enhance efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace in alignment with 5S standards.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
Skills &

Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of CNC lathe setup and operation experience.
  • Strong understanding of CNC programming, formatting, and editing.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Skilled in precision measurement and inspection techniques.
  • Solid shop math skills, including measurement conversions.
  • Experience with manufacturing software.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management abilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Committed to continuous improvement and process optimization.
