Job Summary
The Die Setter will work in conjunction with each other to complete die set ups in an efficient and safe manner.
Job ResponsibilitiesThe following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be assigned and required.
- Perform complete die sets per set-up book, including installing and testing dies, loading press feeders and dereelers, adjusting guides, fixtures, conveyors and other aspects of the press.
- Obtain first off approval of new set ups, accurately measure test pieces, and adjust press and dies to ensure parts produced meet required specifications.
- Inspect or accept or reject material and parts per work instruction, process book and procedures.
- Inspect and tag dies for cleaning and repair.
- Perform die or press corrections when applicable or contact proper support personnel.
- Assist in training operators on basic machine operations and quality inspections.
- Take responsibility for the quality of parts produced and report any nonconforming parts to Quality and supervisor immediately.
- Recommend proposals for improving products, processes, systems, productivity and work environment.
- Maintain a good working relationship with fellow employees and keep supervisor advised of conditions within the work area.
- Complete scheduled work and tasks within allotted time, or notify supervisor if unable to do so.
- Record data as appropriate, including classifying Funnel Cloud downtime.
- Follow and support Magna Body & Chassis Iowa’s and Magna’s operating principles.
- Support efforts to achieve department and plant goals on the Employee Opinion Survey.

Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Forklift and crane certified.
