Job Summary:

The Dump Pit Operator at the Eichelberger Milling Feed Mill Plant is responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate unloading of incoming grains and other feed ingredients, into the plant’s receiving system. This role ensures that all materials are properly received, recorded, and transferred for processing while adhering to safety protocols and maintaining cleanliness in the work area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate dump pit equipment to unload trucks delivering raw materials to the plant.
• Inspect incoming materials for quality, contamination, and compliance with plant standards.
• Accurately record quantities and types of materials received.
• Communicate with truck drivers to ensure proper unloading procedures.
• Monitor and maintain dump pit equipment, reporting any malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors.
• Follow all plant safety and sanitation procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Clean and maintain the dump pit area to prevent contamination and ensure a safe working environment.
• Assist with other activities as assigned by Feed Mill Plant Manager

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous experience in a feed mill, grain handling, or similar industrial environment is an asset
• Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
• Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Ability to work in dusty, noisy, and physically demanding conditions

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods
• Willingness to work in varying weather conditions as needed
