Operator Trainee

Job Overview

Albemarle is hiring an Operator Trainee – Ponds Helper – located on site at our Silver Peak, NV facility. The role supports the Ponds Operator in daily operations, safety compliance, and data collection to achieve the Ponds Department’s goals.

• Assist the Ponds Operator with collecting samples and maintaining required records.
• Support the daily operation of transfer pumps and conduct routine inspections of wells and portable pumps.
• Assist with seasonal dredging operations and seasonal liming activities.
• Collect and compile monthly operational data and reports.
• Serve as backup for the Ponds Operator as needed.
• Safely and efficiently recycle lithium metal using the Lithium Metal Reactor.
• Communicate daily operational activities and relevant information to the Ponds Operator.
• Provide regular updates on shift activities and operational status.
• Assist the supervisor with duties necessary to achieve departmental objectives.
• Support other departments as needed to help meet company goals.
• Maintain a safe, efficient, and organized work environment while contributing to departmental safety objectives.
• Participate as a member of the Emergency Response Team (ERT).

• Ability to follow written procedures and maintain accurate records.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency with standard computer operations.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements outlined in the Physical Demands Checklist.
• Previous industrial or manufacturing experience (preferred).
• Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn (preferred).
• Experience operating equipment in a production environment (preferred).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
