Manufacturing Production Technician
We are seeking a skilled production team member to perform metal fabrication and mechanical repairs in a busy fabrication shop. Experience in operating power tools or basic welding is highly valued. Candidates with 1–3 years of experience are preferred, though we provide personalized one-on-one training for those eager to learn.
Responsibilities- Perform welding on aluminum, mild steel, and stainless steel with provided guidance and training.
- Carry out precise fabrication tasks by following production instructions and using a tape measure.
- Utilize a wide range of electric and pneumatic power tools, such as drills, grinders, and saws, as well as heavy shop equipment like overhead cranes and press brakes.
- Collaborate with a small team of 2–5 coworkers to meet daily production goals.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace while following all safety procedures.
- Proficiency in using basic arithmetic (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing) to ensure accurate measurements.
- Experience with or a strong interest in learning to operate fabrication machinery and welding equipment.
- Knowledgeable in the safe operation of power tools and comfortable working near moving mechanical parts.
- Ability to read a tape measure with high accuracy.
Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to lift 10–25 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs for much of the shift.
- Capability to work in a physically active environment that requires standing, bending, and reaching for up to 10 hours a day.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to ensure consistent attendance.

Work EnvironmentThis role is based in an indoor manufacturing shop with approximately 120 employees. You will work a set 10-hour shift (Monday–Friday), with optional overtime available on Saturdays. The dress code requires steel-toe or composite-toe boots, jeans, and a short-sleeve shirt; the company provides all other necessary safety gear like hard hats and glasses.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Story City, IA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.50/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
