The 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) Program is designed to support and extend learning opportunities for K-12 students beyond the regular instructional day. The program provides academic enrichment opportunities to help students meet state and local standards in core academic subjects, offers enrichment activities that complement the regular instructional program, and supports parents and families through literacy and other educational services.
JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Media and Communications Specialist is responsible for managing and promoting all digital communications related to the 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program. This position supports program visibility, family engagement, community outreach, and grant compliance through the creation of high-quality digital content, management of communication platforms, organization of program records, and dissemination of information to stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Media, Marketing, Technology, Education, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Experience in digital communications, marketing, content creation, or media management.
- Strong proficiency with social media platforms, website management, email communication tools, and other digital communication systems.
- Experience with digital data organization and electronic file management.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff, students, families, and community partners.
- Criminal background check conducted pursuant to WV Code §18A-3-10 and applicable state requirements.
- Knowledge of educational programs and grant-funded initiatives.
- Experience supporting grant reporting, documentation, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency with graphic design and multimedia tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms.
- Experience creating and editing digital graphics, videos, newsletters, and promotional materials.
- Strong organizational, project management, and time-management skills.
- Create, manage, and distribute content through social media platforms, websites, newsletters, email communications, and other digital communication channels.
- Ensure all communications align with program goals, district expectations, and grant requirements.
- Maintain consistent and effective messaging to engage students, families, staff, community partners, and stakeholders.
- Promote program activities, events, achievements, and opportunities through various communication outlets.
- Assist with developing and implementing communication strategies that increase visibility and participation in the program.
- Design visually appealing and informative digital materials, including flyers, graphics, presentations, newsletters, videos, and promotional content.
- Capture and organize photos, videos, and success stories that highlight program activities and outcomes.
- Ensure all communication materials are accurate, professional, accessible, and appropriate for public distribution.
- Support the development of marketing materials for student recruitment and family engagement efforts.
