Job DescriptionThe Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Division of State‑Operated Specialty Care, Bureau of Civil Commitment Unit for Sex Offenders (CCUSO) is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This is a full‑time position that generally requires the RN to work either a PM shift (1:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. or 2:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m.) or an overnight shift (9:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m. or 10:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m.) with a rotating schedule that includes working every third weekend.
The RN may also be required to work outside of these hours and to work overtime.
The RN provides general nursing care to a specific high‑risk population. This includes direct acute and chronic nursing care, health promotion, disease prevention, health education strategies across the lifespan, treatment of patients through therapeutic activities, providing psychological support and direction, escorting patients, and accurate documentation of patient behaviors and attitudes.

Minimum Qualification RequirementsLicensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Iowa by the Iowa Board of Nursing or licensure under the Nurse Licensure Compact Administrator's Agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
