Overview
The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Division of State-Operated Specialty Care, Bureau of Civil Commitment Unit for Sex Offenders (CCUSO) is seeking a Nurse Supervisor to join our team. This is a full-time position with a daytime schedule and on-call responsibilities. Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Iowa by the Iowa Board of Nursing or licensure as an RN in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact Administrator’s Agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
Responsibilities- Provide clinical and operational leadership for nursing services within a secure inpatient civil commitment environment.
- Supervise nursing staff, ensure high-quality patient care, maintain compliance with applicable policies and regulations, and promote a safe, professional, and therapeutic treatment environment.
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams including medical providers, behavioral health professionals, administration, and security personnel to support patient care, operational efficiency, and staff accountability.
- RN licensure in Iowa or as a RN under the Nurse Licensure Compact.
- Preferred qualifications:
prior supervisory or charge nurse experience; at least five (5) years of secure inpatient treatment experience; strong leadership, conflict resolution, and communication skills; ability to work independently and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations; knowledge of nursing regulations, documentation standards, and safe patient practices. - Background check required.
