  • Student Loan Repayment: extra payment of $167 per month up to $10,000 from Avera

Job Summary

Provides professional nursing care under the direction of the provider. Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Board of Nursing - An active license in the state of practice if required upon hire.

Responsibilities
  • Perform general nursing care to patients.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
  • Coordinate patient care activities for the clinic.
  • Prepare equipment and assist provider during procedures, treatments, examinations, and testing of patients.
  • Observe, record, and report patient’s condition and reactions to drugs and treatments to provider.
  • Oversee appointment scheduling and ensure preferences are given to patients in emergency situations.
  • Maintain timely flow of patients.
  • Greets patients and prepares them for physical examination.
  • Screens patients for appropriate information including obtaining health history, taking vitals, and conducting a nursing assessment.
  • Document obtained information in patient chart.
  • Instruct patient in collection of samples and tests.
  • Respond to patient phone calls in a timely manner with appropriate input from the physician.
  • Educate patients and families about diagnostic process, medications, nutrition, and maintenance of health and wellness.
  • Suggest solutions to patient care crisis problems and complaints.
  • Maintain exam rooms with necessary supplies and materials.
  • Ensure cleanliness.
  • Prepare list of medical supplies needed.
  • Assure appropriate labeling of pathology specimens according to lab protocol as needed.
  • Perform quality control and maintain records on all lab testing.

Required Education, License/Certification, or

Work Experience:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing. An active license in the state of practice upon hire.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Board of Nursing. An active license in the state of practice if required upon hire.
