Travel Long Term Care RN

SummaryA Registered Nurse (RN) in a long‑term care (LTC) facility provides skilled nursing care to residents, ensuring their health, comfort, and well‑being. RNs oversee patient care plans, administer treatments, monitor for changes in condition, and collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure high‑quality, resident‑centered care. They also supervise nursing staff, educate residents and families, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
Required Qualifications- One year of recent experience as an RN in a long‑term care setting
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS (AHA/ARC) or CPR certification
- ACLS certification
- Other certifications may be required depending on facility requirements
- Assess patient or resident health, monitor for changes, and take appropriate action to ensure well‑being
- Develop, update, and implement personalized care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and the care team
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Observe residents for medication reactions or changes and report concerns to the provider
- Provide treatments including wound care, IV therapy, catheter management, and other skilled procedures within scope of practice
- Supervise and support LPNs and CNAs, delegating appropriately and ensuring quality care
- Educate residents and families on medications, treatments, and managing chronic conditions
- Document care, resident progress, and any health changes in a timely manner
- Respond quickly to emergencies, deliver critical care, and coordinate with medical teams as needed
- Work closely with physicians, therapists, and other professionals to ensure coordinated, comprehensive care
- Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice
- Adhere to safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
- Remain in a stationary position, move about, and move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend
- Work effectively with a variety of personnel and maintain a positive attitude and professionalism
- Grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move during procedures or when using equipment
- Coping with frequent contact with the public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure
- Work under supervision occasionally or independently as needed
- Handle irregular activity schedules and maintain continuous concentration on detail
- Possess visual acuity and ability to communicate effectively
