Hours: Full-Time: 3 (12-hour shifts per week - rotating weekends)
General Description: Provides direct and indirect patient care in the medical-surgical and emergency care setting. Communicates with physicians and co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Coordinates patient care activities, based on established priorities, including teaching, rounding, counseling, and discharge planning.
Communicates effectively and professionally with patients, family members, and members of the health care team about the patient's plan of care.
Experience/
Education Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited program of nursing with current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Iowa is mandatory. Prior nursing experience in a hospital inpatient and/or emergency department setting, highly preferred. Must be familiar with electronic health records and have basic computer skills. Must maintain all certifications as required by job function or by law. Must possess and demonstrate critical thinking skills.
Strong written and oral communication skills. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high‑pressure environment. Strong customer service orientation.
