Traveling Registered Nurse

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to patients. The RN collaborates with inter‑professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement and evaluate care. The RN demonstrates competency within the full scope of nursing expertise, applying appropriate age‑ and population‑specific standards as designated in the assigned clinical setting.

Responsibilities include caring for patients in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow‑up, as well as planning and coordination of care, patient assessment, patient education, triage, and other nursing interventions. All duties are performed in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and state administrative rules.

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (AACN, ACEN, or NLN CNEA).
• Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred.
• Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the state board of nursing where the practice occurs, or possesses multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact state.
• Obtains and maintains required department‑specific competencies and certifications.
