Overview
Guttenberg Municipal Hospital is seeking a Full Time Patient Care Unit RN to join our night shift team. This position offers the opportunity to apply nursing skills in a dynamic hospital setting with mentorship and collaboration from experienced nursing professionals.
This is a night shift position with rotating weekend coverage, including every 12th weekend. The hospital offers benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, health savings account, flexible spending account, paid time off, and retirement plan options (IPERS, 457b, and 457b Roth).
Day to day as a Patient Care Unit RN - NightsAs a Full Time Patient Care Unit RN, you will play a vital role in accurately recording patient information throughout admission, stay, and discharge. You will transcribe physician orders in a timely manner to ensure care plans are implemented effectively. You will initiate and provide ongoing patient and family education across nursing service departments, and communicate patient observations to healthcare providers promptly to support timely interventions and high-quality care.
QualificationsRequired:
graduation from an accredited RN program and a valid license with the Iowa Board of Nursing. Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NRP are essential for patient safety and quality care. A bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred. Proficiency with applicable software for recording patient information and transcribing orders, plus strong communication and interpersonal skills to educate patients and families and relay observations to providers.
Knowledge and skills include:
- Graduate of an accredited RN program
- Valid license with the Iowa Board of Nursing
- Bachelor’s in nursing preferred
