We are looking for a results orientated Director of Nursing (DON), with strong leadership interpersonal and communication skills to exercise administrative and functional supervision over nursing personnel as directed by the Administrator. The successful applicant will have strong leadership and supervisory skills, and enjoy working with the elderly.

The Director of Nursing plans, organizes, develops, and directs the overall operation of the Nursing department to ensure the highest degree of quality resident care in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations and standards.

Responsibilities
  • Must be currently licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Iowa and maintain an active RN license in good standing throughout employment.
  • Have supervisory experience in a long‑term care setting, preferably as a DON in Iowa.
  • Leverage strong leadership skills to lead a team of nursing staff and foster a team atmosphere within the nursing division.
  • Teach and lead by example on all shifts.
  • Coordinate with residents, families, support departments, and others to adequately plan for resident needs.
  • Be knowledgeable of practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the long‑term care facility in Iowa.
  • Implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department.
  • Be very knowledgeable in state reporting and in developing and implementing plan of corrections.
  • Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures.
  • Display integrity and professionalism in all things.
Requirements
  • Licensure:
    Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in Iowa, active and in good standing.
  • Supervisory

    Experience:

    5 years.

    5 years.
