Pay Rate: $58.41–$75.81 per hour (subject to shift differential, experience, education, or other factors)
The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care and collaborates with patients, families, peers, physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team. The RN assesses patient needs, plans care, implements and evaluates medical and nursing regimens in accordance with hospital policies, nursing philosophy, and standards.
Essential Functions- Understand and adhere to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors.
- Provide respectful care for all patients, promoting mutual respect, shared decision‑making and informed consent.
- Demonstrate leadership, professional accountability and growth.
- Manage NICU infant transport and apply the nursing process to meet age‑specific needs.
- Administer blood products and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
- Integrate patient rights and nursing ethics into practice.
- Maintain infection control standards and comply with Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals.
- Delegate activities to ancillary staff as allowed by the State Nurse Practice Act.
- Adhere to the ANA Code of Nursing Ethics & Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice.
- Support and promote the WPH Professional Nursing Practice Model; sustain Magnet status.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives, attend in‑services and staff meetings.
- Utilize cost‑containment practices and assume charge nurse responsibilities when required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; MSN 60minutes.
- Understanding of theories behind related concepts and multitasking capability.
- BSN or MSN: BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association.
- RSNA/NCLEX: ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – American Heart Association.
- NICU & OR RNs: ACLS within 1year if inexperienced; within 180days if experienced.
- RNs working in PACU, 5I Pediatrics, ER, Armonk Urgent Care, Ambulatory Surgery and 226 Ambulatory Surgery Center:
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required within 1year for all new hires.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required within 6months for all NICU, L&D and Mother‑Baby unit RNs.
- All oncology RNs: current cancer‑specific certification (e.g., AOCNP®, AOCNS®, etc.) or 36 oncology‑related CE hours every 3years.
- Emergency Department RNs: de‑escalation training within 1year of hire.
