SUMMARY:
Cares for patients at all acuity levels across the lifespan for procedures including, but not limited to, surgical, diagnostic, theraputic, and pain management.
Graduate of a CCNE or NLN accredited school of registered nursing required. Certified Nurse Anesthetist, CRNA.
CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, and/or REGISTRATIONSLicensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Iowa and/or meeting the requirements of multi-state licensure required. Certified Nurse Anesthetist, CRNA, Board of Nursing BLS/ACLS and PALS Certification
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Performs pre-operative patient assessments.
- Determines plan of care and communicates the plan of care to patient and family.
- Establishes and maintains essential venous access.
- Ensures establishment and maintenance of airway.
- Responsible for inducting and maintaining and properly managing the anesthesia.
- Responsible for completing the anesthesia and the emergence from anesthesia.
- Transfers care to appropriate staff at termination of procedure.
- Performs post-operative follow-up for each patient/case performed.
- Perform as a clinical instructor for anesthesia students.
