Job Description
Grundy Center Community School District is seeking a dependable Building and Grounds Associate to join our team in a full‑time, year‑round position with flexible hours and a strong benefits package. The role starts at a minimum of $17/hr (negotiable) and includes district‑paid IPERS retirement, affordable health insurance at $35/month, free dental coverage, paid holidays, vacation and sick leave, along with all necessary equipment provided.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Perform lawn care and landscaping for all district properties
- Assist with athletic field care and preparation
- Handle snow removal for sidewalks, entrances, and designated areas
- Complete general building maintenance and repairs
- Assist with overall facility upkeep to ensure a safe environment
- Respond to maintenance needs as they arise
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to perform physical labor in various weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of building maintenance and repair
- Reliable, self‑motivated, and able to work independently
- Previous experience in lawn care and snow removal (preferred)
- Experience operating lawn care and snow removal equipment (preferred)
Status: Full‑Time (12 months/260 days)
Schedule: Guaranteed 40 Hours/week – may vary depending on season and district needs
Starting Pay: $17/hr (negotiable)
Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package includes IPERS, 8 paid holidays, 10 vacation days and 10 sick days (plus 1 per year each up to 15), district health benefits available at $35/month, free dental.
Equipment: The district provides all necessary equipment for mowing, trimming, snow removal, and cleanup.
