Veterinary Technician

Prairie View Animal Hospital is proud to be a locally-owned small animal hospital in Grimes, Iowa. We are seeking candidates to fill a veterinary technician position to add to our team. A minimum of 1 year experience working as a veterinary technician or assistant is required
. Our practice embraces Fear-Free techniques. We utilize our technicians to their fullest extent, providing a rewarding and fun environment with opportunities to develop new skills and interests. Our practice is equipped with a therapy laser, surgical laser, dental radiography, ultrasound, rigid endoscope, and in-house laboratory machines, allowing us to treat and work with a variety of cases and species.

Duties include:

• Patient care
• Client communication and education
• Facilitation of out-patient and in-patient appointments
• Performing lab work and other diagnostics
• Anesthesia induction and monitoring
• Surgical preparation of patients
• Performing dental radiographs and cleanings, including charting and probing
• Working with veterinary assistants to ensure timely and accurate filling of prescriptions
• Maintaining detailed medical records
