FSQA Manager

Job Summary

The role of the Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager is to establish, implement, and maintain the measures and systems to ensure our products are safe, meet regulatory requirements, specifications, and customer expectations. The manager serves as the site leader for Food Safety and Quality Programs and is a member of the plant leadership team.

• Ensure safety and quality of products manufactured at the facility.
• Develop, implement and maintain food safety and quality management systems that meet regulatory, customer, and GFSI requirements.
• Review, revise or implement and monitor Food Safety Plans, HACCP program, SSOP, GMP and other quality assurance programs.
• Oversee implementation and maintenance of the SQF Safe Quality Foods program and lead certification audits for successful outcomes.
• Oversee sanitation and pest control activities.
• Develop collaborative relationships with third‑party vendors and ensure deficiencies are corrected.
• Develop an understanding of manufacturing operations to determine critical processes and controls for safe and quality products.
• Track, report and review Food Safety and Quality KPIs.
• Lead initiatives to continuously improve quality performance, including root‑cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Handle consumer complaints and quality issue resolution.
• Collaborate on changes to products and processes to ensure safety and quality.
• Drive a continuous mindset and improvement activities for the FSQA department, including program execution, technology adoption, process improvements and efficiencies.
• Lead food safety and quality training efforts and foster a strong food safety culture at the facility.
• Lead and develop the site team of food safety and quality employees.

• Bachelor's degree required;
  Master’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years of relevant Food Safety & Quality Assurance experience in the food/beverage industry.
• Previous people‑management experience required.
• Strong knowledge of food safety/hazard analysis and preventive controls (process preventive controls, sanitation, allergen and supply chain preventive controls).
• Experience in pest control, cleaning, sanitation and pest control.
• Experience with FDA Acidified Foods standards.
• Experience in microbiological and analytical methods and laboratory operations.
• Experience with FDA, USDA and other applicable regulations.
• SQF practitioner (or equivalent GFSI certification), HACCP and PCQI certification required.
• Better Process Control School experience (or experience in microbial control process validations for facilities manufacturing LACF and acidified foods).
