Job Summary
The Quality Technician will ensure product meets customer specifications by auditing product for conformity.
Job Responsibilities- Conduct materials and component testing at the stages of manufacturing.
- Prepare, conduct and report on the applicable testing conducted.
- Red tag defective product and work with other departments to reach a consensus on root causes, action plans and corrective action.
- Monitor the utilization and efficiency of quality systems used in the workplace.
- Assist tool room in entering SPC data (Cap Studies) after tooling adjustments for SPC improvements.
- Respond to all initial quality Andon calls.
- Create GP12 inspection paperwork and enter into I Charts.
- Recommend solutions to ensure conformance to quality system requirements.
- Upkeep of records accumulated in production process.
- Perform annual red rabbit verifications, visually inspect red rabbit for damage and accuracy and re-validate.
- Perform floor audits and internal audits.
- Access, input and retrieve information from the computer.
- Assist with sample submission.
- Review, inspect and operate gages and check fixtures on the floor.
- Assist, when needed, in sorting and scrapping parts; pull old labels off containers.
- Help provide training for employees in quality methods.
- Follow and support Magna Body & Chassis Iowa and Magna’s operating principles.
- Support efforts to achieve department and plant goals on Employee Opinion Survey.

Education and Experience- High school diploma or GED.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to use basic inspection equipment.
- Must have basic to intermediate computer skills.
- Must have strong oral and written capabilities.
- Must have working knowledge of SPC.
- Statistical & problem-solving knowledge preferred.
- Working knowledge of quality systems.
- Working knowledge of CMS, Computerized Management System for inventory.
- Basic knowledge of GD&T, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
