Michael Foods, Inc. is situated in Britt, Iowa. The facility processes eggs, including cracking, pasteurization, and dried egg production.
Responsibilities
Lead quality operations by directing quality, laboratory, and sanitation department personnel.Gather, analyze, and trend quality and key performance indicators.Manage incoming goods, in‑process, and finished product testing programs to ensure all Food Safety and Quality specifications are met.Maintain SQF Level 3 certification and drive plant improvement through program verification activities.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local plant regulations.Coach, mentor, and train department and plant staff on core quality values.Participate in regulatory, customer, and internal audits by gathering records, developing new processes, and ensuring compliance.Provide leadership in the development, training, and maintenance of the plant SQF, HACCP, and GMP programs.Serve as Subject Matter Expert on MFI Quality Systems, interpreting policy and ensuring effective implementation at the facility level.Maintain good customer relationships through thorough and timely customer concern resolution.Communicate effectively with Operations, Maintenance, HR, Safety, Corporate, Purchasing, and Distribution personnel.Adhere to safe work practices, GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure product quality to preserve SQF Level 3 certification.Report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, quality, or personnel safety to management.In absence, cover job responsibilities as directed by the FSQ Supervisor.Accountable for a safe and healthy workplace, adhering to all safety policies and incorporating safety and health into all tasks.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Skills and AbilitiesBachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Food Science, or a related field and five years of quality assurance experience in food production operations; or equivalent education and experience.Knowledge of federal, state, and local food processing laws and regulations.Ability to understand customer specifications and perform chemical and microbiological testing following proper laboratory procedures.Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word; experience with SAP a plus.Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.Technical and mathematical skills, including statistics, preferred.Experience with SQF or other GFSI compliant certification systems a plus.Self‑motivated individual with strong leadership skills.Flexible work scheduling, including ability to work some weekends.Ability to operate specific equipment or tools.Proficiency with spreadsheet and word‑processing software.Familiarity with special terminology such as legal, medical, or scientific terms.#J-18808-Ljbffr
